The BB&O CFU was set up over 40 years ago. It is a non-profit
organisation that runs competitions and training sessions throughout
the three counties. The union has ten committee members who have
an interest in promoting and improving fencing in the area (either
by being fencers themselves or being parents of fencers).
Throughout the year, BB&O CFU run the county championships in
all three weapons and a range of age groups from under 10 events
to adult competitions. All competitions are fenced electric and
the winners of each weapon are asked to represent the county in
inter-regional events. There are also two team competitions, the
foil rally (teams of three) and the fencing foil picnic (teams of
two). All of these are a good way to start competing at fencing
and it also enables fencers to fence people who they would not normally
meet in their own clubs. We hope to meet you at one of our forthcoming events.
